How The Nursery Paging System Has Evolved Over The Course Of Time To Improve The Safety Of Our Children.

When I look at the nursery paging system, it looks like churches using them are either using a really old method or are somewhere in between. I do not know whenever the first nursery was first introduced by the church, but there are large churches in Europe which date back centuries that could very easily accommodate a nursery. And also I am sure if they did have a nursery, someone from it would need to venture out into the congregation to tell a parent that they were needed by their toddler. But the sad thing is today with our advanced technological innovations, lots of churches are still using this same outdated method.

Having a nursery volunteer or usher wander along the aisles to find a parent can not only be embarrassing to the mother and father but in addition disrupts the service and the people around them. So it was time to make a change. Next we used the LED monitor nursery paging system. A LED monitor was installed in the front of the church, somewhere within eye's view of the Preacher or Father. Normally off to the right or left, but up high enough where it could be prominently displayed. This method works, but usually churches are beautifully built and decorated, and a LED screen with glowing red lights usually sticks out like a sore thumb. And parents usually wait in anticipation to find out if the number they were given when they dropped their youngster off will come up any time soon.

Then with the use of computer presentation software used during the service, our nursery paging system changed once again. Now a child's number could be displayed in one of the four corners of the screen. Unfortunately, the presentation computer software is not used for the whole service, so there are times when a mother or father can't be notified.

And finally the nursery paging system evolved to what is on the market today. Now nurseries will check out personal pagers to parents. When a parent checks their child in, they check out a pager. The moment the parent returns the pager to the nursery, their little one is released to them. This is a great safety feature for children since the nursery can be an easy place to abduct children for parents that are in a custody battle. It's sad to say, but it is true. Also, the pager is actually silent and vibrates when the parent is needed. It is completely private and does not disturb others. A parent can also be paged anywhere on the church campus no matter where they are at. The days of being concerned about your youngster in the nursery are gone. No more disrupting the service or anxiously watching for your number, the nursery paging system has definitely come a long way.
