Pulau Layang Layang, located in the South China Sea, 300km northwest from Kota Kinabalu is another great diving spot. It is a tiny man-made island surrounded by an atoll 14 km square in diameter plus jutting 2000 meters from the Ocean depths. There are large numbers of barracuda, tuna, and hammerhead shark, Hawksbill turtles, Napolean Wrasse visit Pulau Layang Layang, particularly down the 2000 meters wall.
At the 386 acres Tambunan Rafflesia Reserve center, you can see the world's biggest flower, which can grow up to 1m in diameter and weight around 7kgs. This wonderfully colorful flower which blooms as a single flower without the need of any stem, leave and root is strange and baffling to visitors. There are total 12 species of Rafflesia and several are unique to Sabah, for instance Rafflesia Pricei species.
The Sebilok Orang Utan Rehab center which consists of tropical lowland rainforest sanctuary of some 40sq km is the perfect place to see the adorable Orang Utans, which are found only in Borneo and Sumatra these days. Young orphaned Orang Utans are put in the nurseries before they are released back to jungles. This center is one among the must visit destination during your Borneo holidays trip.
