Wish To Write A Screenplay, Try These Three Ways
Know that you have a wonderful film idea bouncing around your head but not really confident how to get it out on paper? Incomplete scripts collecting dust in the drawer of your writer's office? Confident you have got what it takes to generate buckets of money as a professional screenwriter but not certain how to get it on your laptop?
Here is a fast three-step guide to planning and making a script idea which doesn't suck, will move people and will possibly enable you to attain the screenwriting profession you've always dreamt of.
Brainstorm
So where do you start while learning how to write a script? You will need more than just... "Two guys fight in space" or "A mutant crocodile attacks Vegas." Films are about characters. Particularly one character-who needs to undergo an ordeal of some kind. So why not make the character you.
Start writing about instances in your life when you were emotionally pushed to the edge. Could there be one concept which comes up in your life over and over again? How will you turn that to a story? (Who knows, maybe there is a mutant crocodile involved?)
Logline
So you've got a simple 'vibe' or 'feel' you need for the story. "A young man clashes w/his mother and father over college." Now it's time to turn up the heat and create it a story. This is when you really start digging into how to write a script.
This is when we create a logline-the outdated TV guide mini-descriptions of programs you could find in the periodical. So what exactly is a logline...?
It isn't "Transformers on a Ferris Wheel." It is a situation: where Somebody needs to do something (that is truly difficult/painful to accomplish) to stay away from/prevent/achieve something or else this other worse something can happen.
A young cultivator should leave the ease and comfort of his hometown to join an intergalactic space battle or the world will be taken over by an evil kingdom. (Star Wars)
Elevator Pitch
This is where you pitch your idea to everybody you know. Don't worry, no one will rob it. (They would have to truly write it.) Only carry on until you have an idea where other people go, wow that is great. When you have that, you have learned how to write a script, and you're all set to write a script
Suggestions On Just How To Rewrite A Screenplay To Make It More Exciting Okay, so you're all done with your epic screenplay about dangerous vampires in Boston and now it's time to start pitching that script to managers and agents in Hollywood. (All of whom have more in common with a vampire than you might realize.)
